Here we are on day 13.  We traveled to the Golan Heights today.  This is land taken from Syria by Israel in the 1967 six day war.  It is now the Northern border of Israel.

First, we went to the Banias, headwaters of the Jordan River (Biblical Ceaserea Phillipi) and walked through the nature reserve.  It was an hour an a half hike and it was absolutely beautiful.  Following are pictures taken along the way.  I have 4,632 pictures, (give or take) but I'll just bore you with a few.

OK, enough of that.

We are at an observation sight where Syria is across the border in the first picture, UN buildings in the middle picture and Israeli military installations on the opposite hill.

We stopped on our way back to Tiberias so that we could go down to the water on the Sea of Galilee.  I picked up rocks and sand from the shore, my favorite thing to do.  I wanted to spend the rest of the day in the chair in the water and ponder life, but they made us move on.

Ice cream on the boardwalk in Tiberias after dinner.  It was a great day!!!  Back to Jerusalem tomorrow.

See you there,

We two.
