Jim and Jeanne Leonard

have been married 42 years, and have been ministering Pastors and Counselors for the past 39 years. Jim is a Friends Pastor at South Salem Friends Church. Jeanne is an accomplished vocal musician, recording artist and published composer. They reside in Salem, Oregon.

Jim and Jeanne developed their highly successful "OVERCOMING OBSTACLES TO COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE" seminar in 1988, when they discovered the obstacles to communication in their own marriage. You will appreciate their "open and honest" insights into obstacles as they share from their own experiences in marriage and the raising of six children.

SEMINAR CONTENT

This refreshing seminar is filled with music, drama and humor. It will inspire you to understand and appreciate your spouse as never before!

Four principal issues covered in the seminar:

TEMPERAMENT TYPES – Four basic temperaments are identified and each person given opportunity to discover their own strengths and weaknesses. Emphasis will be on learning to understand and value the unique differences in each temperament and identifying judgments we have on each other.

MALE / FEMALE DIFFERENCES – failure to recognize and value the distinctive differing qualities of our emotional and thinking processes causes one of the greatest obstacles to communication in marriage.
(Perceptions of love: "His Needs / Her Needs;" Communication Styles, etc.)

OUR SIN NATURE – We know how to act and respond in loving and correct ways, yet we find that we do not have the power to accomplish it.
(Spiritual Leadership; Contrary Choices; Forgiveness, etc.)

WOUNDEDNESS – Emotional woundings, which we have all experienced, hinder us from free expression of our unique personhood and rob us of our ability to communicate and respond in productive ways.

JEANNE is also available as a special speaker for Ladies’ Retreats, One Day Seminars or Luncheons. Jeanne uses drama and her musical compositions to enhance her communication of God’s Word.
