Well, Jim sent you the facts, I'll add some details and feelings. This is leaving Portland.

We arrive in Tel Aviv about 4:37 in the afternoon, after a sleepless 12 hour flight. Interesting to see all the different nationalities on the plane.

There were many Israelis, and when the plane touched down, they all burst into thunderous applause and yelling, "Shalom".  We arrived on the Jewish Shabbot (Sabbath).  I looked over and there were tears streaming down Jim's face. The next picture I took just after that.  It doesn't really capture the emotion felt.

Those eyes were REALLY red.
Tel Aviv Airport. We were surprised and delighted that we were not questioned or stopped at all. We merely walked out to our host, as we would at home.

I hope, I hope it's all here.
And it was

Loading our tour bus.

We're not planning on sinning bad.

Does this look like a happy man?
That says it all.

Here we are at the Jerusalem Hotel. Our room is quaint and wonderful.
After settling in, we had a meal in the garden restaurant. We will send you more pictures of the hotel in the daylight.  We had some interesting foods and some great entertainment. Jim has a great video of that.

Here's Jim mailing you last night.
It is now about 8:00am Saturday
here and 10:00pm there.

We're about to go to breakfast and take a walk to the Temple Mount.  Our tour bus will pick us up around 10:00am and today we will tour Jerusalem outside the  Old City Walls and tomorrow, the inside.

As you know, it has always been a dream of Jim's to come to Jerusalem.
Today, on his 64th birthday, that dream came true. He woke up in Jerusalem.

Sometimes God goes to great lengths to let us know how much he loves us.

Happy Birthday, Jim.
